More BEE interviews

'She was a such bitch to me.'
Bret Easton Ellis slams Katie Couric:
Do you feel more protective of your life with all the press you receive?
I feel much less protective now than I did before. That's a product of middle age and a midlife crisis-I really just don't care anymore. I'm just going to say whatever the hell I want to say. When everyone was saying, "Oh my God, Tom Cruise, he's so fucking nuts! Look at him, he's going totally crazy!" I was going, "Oh my God, I totally relate to him. I totally get it." When I was on theToday show last week, I wanted to tell Katie Couric, "Katie, you know nothing about publishing. Nothing about publishing. I know about publishing. You're being very glib."
He tells The Australian he has 'nothing else interesting to say':
`I don't like doing interviews. It might have something to do with being disgusted by the picture of me, the Bret Easton Ellis character that wears a suit, smokes and leads a crusade against superficiality and American junk culture. His nagging about the tyranny of beauty disgusts me.
"My God, he writes books where models are terrorists! Who the hell cares any more?
"I'm getting older,'' he admits ruefully, "and this is part of the ageing process.''
And that Lawrence Bender, producer of Pulp Fiction, wants the rights to Lunar Park with Russell Crowe in the lead.
